The Omega-Phoenix Group

The firm

An operating bench — not an advisory panel

OGC is a small, senior team of operators who have actually run the functions we advise. We don’t arrive with a framework and leave with a report. We work inside the companies we serve to make revenue predictable, cash flow dependable, and the business less dependent on any one person or customer. Between us we’ve led revenue turnarounds, run finance and ERP for companies from startup to a billion dollars, and sat in the CRO, COO, and CFO seats ourselves — backed by a network of operators we bring in as the work demands.

We think like the buyers your business will eventually meet — because making a company worth more and harder to break is the same work whether or not you ever sell.

The principals

Greg Barker

Greg Barker

Managing Partner

Greg is a thirty-year commercial operator and U.S. Air Force veteran who has spent his career making revenue predictable. He began at Oracle, building and leading global sales programs across engineered systems, data security, and content management, then spent more than a decade as a top-line leader inside SaaS companies — repeatedly turning around stalled sales organizations and driving triple-digit growth, including one company’s highest revenue growth in its thirty-year history. As a fractional CRO, COO, and CCO he has run go-to-market rebuilds and turnarounds across healthcare, software, property, and staffing. At OGC he leads the revenue side of the practice: pipeline, pricing, retention, and the discipline that turns growth into something a business can count on. B.S., Computer and Information Science, University of Maryland.

Adam Smith

Adam Smith

President

Adam is the firm’s finance-and-systems operator — the person clients bring in when the numbers, the controls, and the ERP all have to work together. Over twenty-five years he has led large-scale financial and ERP implementations, migrations, and turnarounds across healthcare, biotech and pharma, manufacturing, insurance, and construction — from a $1B healthcare provider to public companies navigating SEC reporting and SOX. His background spans corporate finance, regulatory compliance, and forensic accounting — he has served as a court-appointed receiver and financial-crimes investigator — alongside deep Microsoft Dynamics expertise. Clients describe him as the consultant who can parachute in and get the job done. At OGC he leads the cash flow, controls, and systems side of the practice: the machinery that makes finance dependable.

Stephen Fry, CPA

Stephen Fry, CPA

Partner

Stephen is a CFO-caliber finance and operations leader with an unusually operational pedigree: eighteen years in manufacturing and inventory-intensive businesses, plus five years in SaaS navigating modern revenue recognition (ASC 606 and 842). A U.S. Marine Corps veteran and Michigan CPA with an MBA, he began his career in public accounting and has since served as Controller, Director of Finance, and Operations Manager across automotive, industrial, and consumer-products manufacturers — owning cost accounting, pricing, internal controls, and M&A integration. His range runs from plant-floor cost structures to public-company-grade controls and board-level reporting. At OGC he brings the cost, margin, and operational-finance depth that turns a busy business into a profitable, predictable one.

The bench

Three principals — not a firm of three

The people above lead the work. Behind them is a network of senior operators we’ve collected across three decades — specialists we bring in as the engagement demands. When your business needs a particular kind of operator, odds are we already know the right one — so you get senior, situation-specific experience without carrying it on your payroll.
